Biography

Hello my name is Halle Pozos,

I am the second oldest of five sisters and I'm from the Bay Area, Berkeley CA, to be exact. I am here in Riverside to further my education. I graduated from Berkeley High school and was admitted to UCR in 2011. I've been attending UCR for two years now but found that some of the breath requirements were a little difficult for me. I believe it's because of the fast paste as well as the extremely large classrooms. I decided to do two semesters here at RCC to finish my breathe requirements just so I can get  better understanding of the material in a smaller foundation. I enjoy this campus and believe that I will do well here during these two semesters.

The reason why I am taking Environmental Science is because it is one of the requirements that I have to fulfill. I am a Women Studies major but I intend on becoming a Physicians Assistant for a obstetrician gynecologist. I've worked as a front desk assistant for brain surgeon Dr. Kawanaa D. Carter in Folsom CA, which brought my attention towards the medical field. Although watching ill clients had an emotional effect on me I knew I wanted to be able to help in some kind of way. I looked into other private fields because brain surgery was a bit intense for me but doing more research I soon found that women's health was what gained my interest most. After taking this class I hope that it will take a hold of me in wanting to better the economy on a personal basis in my life and causes me to look forward in previous science courses after. Based on the class so far I am impressed with what Ms. Huff has in store for us and I can't wait to learn as much as I can about Environmental Science:)

  1. Hey Halle,

Your comment about the fast pace and large classroom size of UCR is something I was worried about when deciding whether to apply to transfer this fall or the next. I'm thinking it might be better to finish up physics and chemistry at RCC rather than UCR before transferring, as you and others have made me think it may be a better idea.
